I’m interested as to if the process of toasting has any effect on the nutritional value of bread… It certainly feels more satisfying to eat than cold bread…
(OK I’m bored at work, and my mind is wandering…)

I am 5′5″ and weigh 250 pounds. I have a back injury as well. I am looking for a thrill and thought of exercise. I manage to get a thrill out of it when jogging on the treadmill. I was wondering if I should get a sport or hobby that would be low impact, but exhilirating. I want something that is challenging and rewarding.

Jules asked:
I do need to lose some weight, (about 10 lbs) but I really need to tone my muscles overall. I think I can manage the weight loss, but I really need some direction on how to proceed with an exercise plan. I’ve seen several video programs available, namely Slim in 6, bit I’d rather invest in workout equipment, such as balls, elastic tubes, etc. instead of videos. I just need to know what to buy and how to use them. I would really like some specific suggestions, and some good web links would be great!
Also, we already have a set of free weights and a treadmill that my husband uses. But I don’t want to build bulk!

kayrayxoxo asked:
I recently started my own exercise program. I spend about 5 days a week at the gym and usually exercise between 1 (a short workout) to 2 and a half hours. I usually run, bike, do the stairmaster, work with an exercise ball & medicine ball for tone, and lift weights.
I gained about 3-4 pounds the past couples weeks—is this likely to be muscle? And will the fat I’m looking to lose start coming off soon after?
As far as diet goes, all I’ve done is cut back on junk and try to keep all my portion sizes logical—but nothing too serious.

Sometimes I get bored from jogging five times a week, if I alternate it with jumping rope a few days and jogging other days will the jump rope still be considered as a cardio workout?

Stuff at like.. McDonalds. Does the Lettuce/tomato/whatever in their Big Macs or Whoppers or whatever actually count as eating vegetables?
I heard they use something like Iceberg Lettuce which is Lettuce with Zero Nutritional Value. Any truth to this?

I am making a substrate for germinating plants and they need the rice for its nutrient value. I messed up and let the pressure cooker cool down overnight and now I’m wondering if I should recook it… It has to remain perfectly sterile until I use it. What would happen if you pressure cooked –canned–someting twice? Any response appreciated.

When I was pregnant, I developed blood clots in my leg. Well, the damage in my veins is preventing me from getting a good cardio workout. When I run, swim or ride my leg swells and is very painful. Any type of movement of my leg seems to swell it up. Most of the time, I just suck up the pain, but I am sick of being in pain. I am wearing compression stocks and it does not seem to be helping. I miss getting a good cardio workout. I have even tried the rowing machine. I do yoga and pilates, but I don’t feel like those are a good enough workouts. Does anyone have any suggestions? I will try anything to get a good cardio workout.

Mike asked:
I want to lose weight and build some muscle (main goal is to lose weight).
My workout consists of doing at least 30 minutes on the bike (climbing hills mostly) or a mix of biking and climbing stairs. Then I like to do some muscle workouts for my stomach & abs and my arms as well. Oh and I do rest on Sundays.
I haven’t been working out for the last 2 months from an injury and want to get back on the right track.
