mcflylover. asked:
for my personal fitness final, we have to do 10 laps, 25 yards each with 1 minute intervals. we’ve only been in the class for 24 days, 2 days a week, for an hour and a half. our teachers say we have to do the 10 laps to pass, but a ton of people in the class are hesitant to the idea of doing so much in such a short time of learning.
so, is 10 laps to much, for only 10 days of swimming?
or is it to little for people who haven’t had any training?
advice pelase.
we are doing front crawl and we have a time limit, plus there are other people in the lane with you, in mine, there are 7 people.
i’ve had no swim training at all and it’s one continuous stroke, FRONT CRAWL.

I run quite a lot but my ankle was very sore when I was doing some middle distance training (intervals) last night. I was even having difficulty walking on it. It’s seems slightly better today (no pain when walking whatsoever). Any advice on how long to rest from training and what to do meanwhile to keep my fitness up? thanks!

mccoyms343 asked:
I was wondering has anyone had good results after taking protein and other things from stores like GNC? I looked in there today and read a bunch of stuff that seemed weird to me… whey protien has like 22 g per serving, well chicken has 32 g per serving and its cheaper and tastes better to me. So is buying the muscle building stuff at GNC worth it?
I have lost about 20 lbs of mostly fat over the past 3 months and am at a 160 lbs but am looking to bulk up to about 170, but i only want to gain muscle mass. I lift weights 3 days a week and do interval training 3 days a week alternating between lift days. I stick to a diet of about 1200-1500 cals a day, but its to low to build muscle which is why i am looking into GNC products. I need help lol i want to get a great body and i have a good one now, but im just so small i look puny… but I do look good. what to do?

macmurphy45 asked:
I never get headaches, thats something ive always been thankful for. But last night I got one and today its back again. Im worried I may have done some damage to my brain with the training I was doing yesterday. Ive got a Vo2 max test coming up(a test of fitness) and I was training for the test by doing interval training on the treadmal set on an incline(this set-up closely matches the test set-up). Ive done this kind of training before and its always very hard but doable. Ive made good gains with my fitness using this kind of intense training so thats why i keep it up. However yesterday I did this training and for some reason it was harder than ever, I was barely able to finish and I really had to dig deep. My heart rate was up close to 200 bpm at one stage. Later last night I developed a headache and today its back again.
Is it possible that Ive done some damage to my brain, like burst blood vessels or something? Whats going on? Thanks

Wanna Be!! asked:
Iv worked out for around two years now, i go to the gym, and over the years iv leaned out and built muscle and am happy with my body, except for my chest (as youve probly guessed)
I do full body workouts, yes i work my chest with incline, decline and flat etc, i know how to workout..
I do interval training on my treadmill 3-4 times a week, mainly to keep fitness up while not playing sport..
As i said iv leaned out over the years but for some reason i cant seem to get rid of my lower chest fat, i eat properly, almost zero junk food etc, follow a high protien diet for my bodybuilding and eat smaller meals throughout the day..
Iv tried loosing this fat on my lower chest before but all i ended up doing was looking anerexic i lost so much weight, and the fat still remained.!
Iv been to the doctor aswell who told me its not gynocomastia..
I really cant understand why its not going and after two years im getting a little impatient now. What should i do?

Exploding jellyfish asked:
Hi, over the past 3 years I have lost 3 stone 7 Lb (23KG) and was quite active despite my health condition, but now i work 30 hours a week in a mentally tiring job so by the time i get home, all i want to do is sleep! i need to loose another 2 stone and get active again (i miss the gym but cant afford a membership).
I’ve looked for advice on the internet and i know i need to combine resistance and cardio with interval training to get the best results, but i need somebody to do a plan for me because I get confused!
At home I have:
Yoga dvd (broken into 20min slots)
ladies dumbells
inflatable punch bag (good for stress release :P)
skipping rope (gold gym thing)
I also walk to and from work, (16m/wk) and i play about 2 hours of sport at the wknd. I also got into jogging last year but my fitness level has severley dropped, but im pick this up again.
Any ideas on a steady plan that wont leave me tired but will help me lose weight? My nutrition is good. I just want to get healthy. thanks
sorry, i forgot to point out, at the moment im only walking 16 miles a week, i’ve been ill with a virus so ive not done any sports for a while but i want to slowly get more active. im also very poor so activities that i need to pay for isnt really an option unfortunately, that’s why i’ve added a list of things that i have available to me.
Thanks for ur input so far
x

Tim K asked:
I am starting a health/diet/nutrition/weight loss/exercise/etc website, because obesity is a growing problem in America and I want to help. I am a Biology major at Boston College and understand some of the biological aspects of nutrition and gaining fat. I have some ideas of what to put on the site, but if you were going to a website like this to try and lose weight/get in shape, what would you want? What would you want information on? Weight loss plans? Nutritional label reading guide? Incentives for losing weight? More information on metabolism and fat? Consequences of eating unhealthy food? Please give me any ideas that you have, and let me know if you think this would be a successful website.
