Lisa K asked:
My wife and I have owned a travel club now for the last 3 years, and we have decided we would like to buy a weightloss franchise called Physicians Weightloss. We have been very successful in our travel business, but it involves alot of traveling for work, and we have a child on the way. We would like to get into another business where we dont have to travel out of town all the time. We have researched this franchise and spoke with several current franchise owners. This is definitely what our next move will be, but we only have half the amount needed to buy the franchise and have enough working capital to get us through the first 6 months with our personal bills. We are homeowners, but have only had the house for 1 year, so home equity is out. We are only in need of approximately $30,000. We could borrow from our parents, as they are well off, however, we are very proud people, and do not like the idea of relying on family and friends to float us money. Anyone have an alternate idea?

This is kind of hard to explain. Say that my body requires 2000 calories a day to consumption in 2000 calories a day, but to Gymnastic burn 2500. So I have burned more than 500 by the needs of the body. How long does it take for your head this body weight loss? It is immediate or there is a process that requires a certain amount of time? I hope this has meaning!

I have been working my ass off this last month trying to lose some weight, I am doing a 12 week challenge at the gym and was hoping to lose 10 kilos averageing just under a kilo a week and 0.7% body fat, (which my instructor said is very achievable).. It is now week 4 and I have only lost 1kilo.. I have been doing physical activities everyday of the week for atleast an hour a day, and have really improved my diet and am not drinking anything but water & green tea… (My Instructor checks my weekly diet and said he cannot fault it at all) Why is it taking soo long to shed this weight with all the effort I am putting in.. ( My instructor said that my body just might be a slow responder)… Anyone got any tips to keep me motivated, or any advice as I really need it right now!!! Thanks..

I have lost weight recently and have noticed that I am feeling more flexable…also I remember when I gained a bit of weight I noticed a decrease in flexability. This leads me to believe that the two are directly related and I am just wondering why this is?….thanks for your help.
hahaha I guess I did …I am not confident in my conclusion though (its just a guess)…Im hoping people will tell me if I am correct.

Richard S asked:
I’ve ran for about 1.5 years, my results have improved and my weight dropped; I’m now starting to take my training more seriously following a structured schedule - My aim is simply to perform as well as I can come race day.
I’m 12st 11lbs and I’m struggling to drop any more weight. My training is more intense than it has been before so
under-eating leaves me feeling really drained (especially so on my runs) - I’m now eating sensibly but sufficiently to fuel my excercise.
I understand a lower body fat % means less excess weight being carried and therefore better running performance, but at the same time I’ve not really embarked on a dedicated training regime before so I’m hoping my running ability could still improve even if I lost no weight.
Should I not worry about my weight and focus on training hard? Train hard and eat less and just work through the days feeling energyless? Or perhaps cut my calorie intake and training? Or something else?
All advice MUCH appreciated.
Some great info on running and nutrition, but nothing really I didn’t know already… I’m quite some way of becoming anorexic and have no intention of ever surcoming to the disease so I wouldn’t worry about that.
Going back to my original question though, would I be better to focus on my training or focusing on my weightloss for best performance improvements?
